In the production of fibre composite components, it is still a problem to monitor the curing process reliable. In this project a Curing Transponder was developed, which uses RFID technology to detect the curing of fibre composite components. The project focuses on glass and carbon fibre components. The transponder can store detailed data about the component state and send this data to a software system. This system can interpret the RFID-Signal in order to visualize the curing process. Thus, its possible to control the production steps more efficiently. The BIBA institute conducted the data analysis and the development of algorithms which are necessary to interpret the RFID signals to determine the curing process of the fibre composite components. The project was performed in cooperation with the Faserinstitut Bremen [FIBRE] and the companies tagItron (Salzkotten) and Haindl Kunststoffverarbeitung (Bremen).
